AUTOMOTIVE MINISTRY
Basic care care service and referral services for more complex car care needs for church members.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY
Responsible for equipping Disciples for the work of ministry and for growth into mature discipleship. Oversees Sunday School, Wed. night Bible Study, Winter and Summer Bible Institute, Vacation Bible School, 'Adopt-A-School' program which provides Sunset Park School teacher gifts, 'Educate and Accelerate' program which provides mid-year and end of year student recognitions.
FINANCE MINISTRY
To see to the financial welfare and well-being of the church through the management, oversight and budgeting of the church finances and business interests; Direct the care, use and planning of financial resources of the congregation in order to support the ministries, programs and facilities of the congregation; Provide viable and functional procedures and operations that will enhance the overall accountability of those assets entrusted to the church.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS MINISTRY
Partners with Atrium Health to provide health and wellness information . RN services include patient education and advocacy. Participates in community health fairs. Provides blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
Serve to create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure a memorable experience.To assist guests and members in the process of finding your way into the community life of First Calvary Baptist Church.
KITCHEN MINISTRY
The purpose of the food service ministry is to supervise cooking and eating facilities for their care and upkeep. Their duties include supervising the selection and preparation and serving of all meals in which the church is involved. They are responsible for cleanup also. They are to submit a budget to the finance committee for food preparation and kitchen equipment
MEN'S MINISTRY
To build men’s faith, relationships and ministry, through resources we obtain, events we produce and ongoing leadership development. Create an atmosphere of support, encouragement and prayer for the Pastor.
MUSIC AND ARTS MINISTRY
Strives to offer a broad spectrum of African-American sacred music, including hymns, traditional and contemporary gospel, choral anthems, arranged choral spirituals, and praise & worship songs. Hymn chour participates in local church services.
PRISON MINISTRY
FCBC's Prison Ministry seeks to share the love of God through His Son, Jesus Christ, with incarcerated men and women; to present the restorative power of God; and to provide empowerment for becoming positive and productive citizens of our local community. Training and certification is required.
SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY
To promote spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth through a variety of wholesome activities that challenge and stimulate older adults to explore areas that will enhance a healthy and vital lifestyle that glorifies God.
PASTORAL STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY
This ministry, working with and through other ministries and the congregation of the First Calvary Baptist church, will meet the needs of the Pastor and First Family through encouraging words and deeds in prayer, personal, physical, mental and financial support; ensure that the congregation is aware and acknowledge the authority of the Pastor as their Spiritual Leader under God; maintain his robes, handkerchiefs and miscellaneous items. Support the Pastor by attending other churches when he is the visiting preacher, plan and make his visiting pastors comfortable by providing for their needs; participate in any fundraising efforts to accomplish such goals as providing financial support for special events such as the Pastor’s anniversary, sabbatical, etc.
TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY
Picks up members to attend the Sunday School and Wednesday Night Family Bible Study.
USHER MINISTRY
Schedules enough ushers to serve at all church functions; Regular meetings to keep all ushers informed about upcoming events; Training sessions are offered so all services will run smoothly. Usher’s must be dedicated, committed to serve, and dependable.
WOMEN'S MINISTRY
Fellowship activities to encourage spiritual growth, personal development and leadership amongst the women of First Calvary Baptist Church.
YOUTH MINISTRY
To win the souls of young people through the development and implementation of programs, Christian education classes, worship services, and cultural events designed to reach youth by using their own language and by recognizing their sensibilities and norms, in faithful service to God, church and community
